End of a project

Hi guys! It's been a while since I last updated you. I have been very busy, but now Spring has begun I can't wait to start writing letters again. I still have to reply to some of you, so if you haven't got something back - don't worry!
My temporary hiatus got me thinking.. it has been fun to write all these letters with people from all over the world but I think I want to start a new project. I'm not sure what kind of project, but I decided to remove my mail form which means I won't accept new pen pals or pen pal calls.
I will keep on writing, but just with the people I know. I'm always interested in swapping, but I prefer to swap with people behind blogs I already 'know'. I hope you understand this, and who knows - maybe I'll replace my contact form in a couple of months!

My last outgoing mail, to Kelly and Rin. Looking at these parcels makes me so happy!

Letter hiatus

Dear snail mail lovers, as you might have noticed there weren't many updates on here lately. I have been so busy but new requests keep coming every day. I don't want to dash off my letters but honestly I can't keep up with this tempo!
So I made the difficult decision to close my project for new entries. This won't be forever, I have had a little hiatus before. I just want to have fun at writing, at the moment it feels more like a job than a hobby. For example: I still have to reply to letters I received in late September!
So, if you're reading this and you're still waiting for me to respond: I will, but it takes a little bit more time than I thought. If you want to write with me: please come back in a month or so, I won't be answering mails according this project the next few weeks. Please check out the pen pal calls or send in your own pen pal call (just write down your basic info, take a picture of it and send it to me).

I will keep updating this blog the following weeks with letters I received and sent lately, I just won't add new pen pals until I have the time to write everybody back. So don't worry, there will be updates on here!

#88 Marinthe

From: Marinthe, The Netherlands - December 2012

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years Eve! Wish you all the best for 2013. I have been quite busy too, so I have a lot of mail to catch up on. At the moment I will take a little pause and won't accept new pen pals, I'm sorry! Of course I will open entries again, when I'm not so super busy anymore.

This lovely wrapped package came from Marinthe, and included a scented sachet which smell like fresly washed clothes. So now my dorm smells delicious! She also included a pen pal call, which I will publish on the blog so you can all write with Marinthe too!

#87 Vanessa (package swap)

From: Vanessa, Belgium - December 2012

I received another letter with some really cool letter goodies which spell my name. Maybe I can make a garland of it. I'm not some kind of narcistic person, but I just really like them haha.
Vanessa, who sent me this beautiful package, included lots of other lovely things. I always love these collections of random but special things. Thanks Vanessa!

DIY: decorate your envelope

A little while ago someone asked for some inspiration on how to decorate your envelopes. Well, I hope these pictures give an idea of decorating your envelopes! I mostly use washi tape and stamps to decorate my envelopes, but in fact you can just stick everything you like on your envelope. Be creative :-)

#86 Mariza (package swap)

From: Mariza, The Netherlands - November 2012

When I came home last week, this lovely decorated envelope was waiting for me. Mariza filled it with lovely vintage paper ephermera. I love the teeny tiny monopoly money haha! And I really like the little cardboard letters, I'm definitely going to use them to personalize something (I'm not sure what, maybe my diary or I'll stick them to my wall?).

From: Anouck, The Netherlands - November 2012

Last week I received on of the first letters mailed to my dorm room. It was a lovely letter filled with handmade goodies from Anouck! All these things were wrapped but I already opened it when I took the pictures.. oops! ;-)
I absolutely love the picture on the envelope, so Anouck, if you're reading this could you tell me where it's from?

Mention in Flow Magazine

Translation: Woo! I've been featured in a Dutch magazine. Isn't that awesome?

Sent mail #10

It's been a while since I last showed you pictures of my sent mail. I always like it to receive pictures of the mail I sent to you, so please don't forget to take pictures! :-)
I'm currently really busy so if you haven't got any mail back, don't worry - I haven't forgotten about it, I'm just really busy.

#84 Esther

From: Esther, Belgium - October 2012

At first when I opened this letter from Esther, I wondered why I couldn't get the letter out of the envelope. Then I read the little note written on the yellow paper.. The letter was a little booklet! I had to cut open the envelope to read the letter. How amazing is this? Definitely one of the most special and original letters I've gotten so far.

#83 Sally

From: Sally, China - October 2012

A very quick reply from Sally! She always uses the most cute stationery (and her handwriting is also tiny and cute haha). It's always good to hear about her life in China, how a lot of things are actually just the same as here in Holland.

Lastdaysofspringblog.com

At the moment I'm so busy with school, which resulted in a lack of updates on this blog. Apologies for that! I'll keep updating this blog but it might take me a little longer to respond to all your (e)mail. In the meantime, you might want to check out my personal/lifestyle blog: Lastdaysofspringblog.com.
My personal blog is filled with inspiration for your home, your daily meals, everything creative and a lot more. It's written in Dutch but it has short English summaries (and it's mostly pictures anyway).
Below some pictures from my personal blog, let me know what you think about lastdaysofspringblog.com!

#82 Jaimie

From: Jaimie, The Netherlands - October 2012

When I opened this letter, a lovely smell filled my room. At first I thought it came from the lavender, but Jaimie actually included some selfmade bathsalt/soap pieces! Such a nice idea. I loved the letter, thanks a lot Jaimie!

#81 Nicole (package swap)

From: Nicole, The Netherlands - October 2012

Last week I got this amazing vintage package from Nicole. It was filled with goodies, she even made her own little bags to put everything in. I'm most curious at those flower seeds, which flowers will grow from those seeds?

#81 Caro

From: Caro, The Netherlands - September 2012

A little while ago I received this cute letter from Caro. I love the vintage image on the back of the letter, that's why I'm not showing you the letter ;-). It's still nice to find little treasures in my mailbox every week.
